9 women killed in 7 days of 2021!

The number of women being victims of femicide is increasing every day in Turkey. We see news about violence against women every day. Women have been killed by men since the first day of 2021 in Turkey.

News Center- İstanbul, Bursa, Bodrum, Isparta, Ankara… The names of cities have been changed but the result is the same. Men keep killing women. According to reports, nine women were killed by men in the first seven days of 2021. Most of the killed women are those who asked for a divorce.
People living in İstanbul saw the news of the killing of two women when they got up in the morning. A man called Adnan Soysal stabbed his wife Hatice Soysal to death in the Sultanbeyli district of İstanbul. In the Esenler district of İstanbul, a woman was found dead in her house.
He took her hostage first
Adnan Soysal living in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood of İstanbul’s Sultanbeyli district first locked his wife Hatice Soysal in a room along with his 16-year-old son and threatened her. The child managed to run away while his parents were discussing and he called the police. Many police and medical teams were sent to the scene. Police officers couldn’t enter the house because Adnan had locked the door. Thereupon, firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Police officers managed to enter the house by using a fire ladder. They found Hatice Soysal stabbed. The health teams determined that Hatice died at the scene.
She was stabbed to death
65-year-old Neriman Kıvrak living in the Esenler district of İstanbul was found killed at her home. Relatives of Neriman Kıvrak, who lived alone in the basement of a five-story building in Fatih neighborhood, went to her home when they had heard from her for a while. But no one opened the door. Her relatives opened the door and found her body.  Police officers and medical workers arrived home. They report that the woman was stabbed to death.
300 women were killed in 2020
According to We Will Stop Femicide Platform, men killed 300 women in 2020. Another 171 women were killed in suspicious circumstances.
