9 detained journalists referred to courthouse

Nine journalists, who were taken into custody in dawn house raids on April 23, have been referred to courthouses in three cities after three days in police detention.

News Center- Nine journalists were taken into custody in dawn house raids conducted in Istanbul, Ankara and Riha (Urfa) on April 23.

Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reporters Esra Solin Dal, Enes Sezgin, an employee of the Yeni Yaşam newspaper; media workers Saliha Aras, Yeşim Alıcı, Beste Argat Balcı and Şirin Ermiş and journalist Erdoğan Alayumat were taken into custody in Istanbul. MA reporter Mehmet Aslan was taken into custody in Ankara and MA former reporter Doğan Kaynak in Riha (Urfa).

Today, the journalists detained in Istanbul have been reportedly referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. JournalistMehmet Aslan has been referred to the Ankara Courthouse.

MA former reporter Doğan Kaynak has been reportedly referred to the Urfa Courthouse.
