5 political prisoners executed in 2010 commemorated in Evin prison

Political prisoners held in the women's ward of Evin Prison commemorated five political prisoners, who were executed in Iran on May 9, 2010.

News Center- Political prisoners held in the women’s ward of Evin Prison held a commemoration ceremony for Shirin Alamhooli, Farzad Kamangar, Ali Heydarian, Farhad Vakili and Mehdi Eslamian, five political prisoners executed in Iran on May 9, 2010, said a post on the Instagram account of Golrokh Iraee, a human rights defender and a political prisoner imprisoned in Evin Prison.

According to the post, the commemoration ceremony was held on Tuesday when the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign entered its 67th week of protests across 41 Iranian prisons. The female political prisoners chanted slogans against the death penalty in Iran and read poems of protest and resistance.
