41 children killed in NE Syria in eight months

At least 41 children were killed and 32 more were injured in the attacks carried out by the Turkish forces and Turkish-backed factions in North and East Syria in 2023.

News Center- At least 41 children were killed and 32 more were injured in the attacks carried out by the Turkish forces and Turkish-backed factions on North and East Syria in 2023 (from January 1 to September 2), according to the report released by the human rights organizations based in Shahba, Afrin and in Cizre and Euphrates regions.

The report said that four children were sexually abused, nine children were arrested and eight children were kidnapped. The report also said:

“*Cizre Region: A child was injured at the border, three children were killed in the explosion, two children were killed in drone attacks and seven children were killed in artillery attacks. Six children were injured in artillery attacks.

*Manbij Region: Four children were killed in the attack on a village.

*Euphrates Region: A child was injured in a drone attack.

*Raqqa Region: In artillery attacks, two children were killed and two more were injured.

*Deir ez-Zor Region: Two children were killed in an explosion.

*Afrin-Shahba Region: In explosions, 15 children were killed and 16 more were injured. Four children were raped, nine children were arrested. Seven children were killed and six children were injured at different times. Eight children were kidnapped.”
