4 actresses summoned to testify in Tehran

Four actresses were summoned to testify by the Tehran Prosecutor's Office for not complying with the mandatory hijab law.

News Center- The nationwide protests that sparked in Iran and Rojhilat following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini in custody have continued in their eighth month.

Since September, the Iranian regime has used many methods such as arrest, detention, torture and poisoning to quell the protests.

Tehran prosecutor Ali Salehi announced that four Iranian actresses Katayoun Riahi, Pantea Bahram, Afsaneh Bayegan, Fatemeh Motamed-Arya and Iranian actor Reza Kianian were summoned to testify by the Tehran Prosecutor's Office for not “behavior according to Islamic customs and values”.

He also threatened them to be arrested if they do not go to the prosecutor’s office within the legal deadline.

Since the beginning of the nationwide protests, numerous artists, actresses and actors have supported the protesters. Many actresses have been detained or arrested for removing their hijab in public spaces and posting their photos without hijab on social media platforms.
