374th day of sit-in protest: Don’t be a party to this crime by keeping silent

The sit-in protest started by Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has continued on its 374th day. “Don’t be a party to this crime by keeping silent,” the Şenyaşar family says.

Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in Suruç by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, continues on its 374th day. In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came from Suruç district to Urfa in order to keep holding their protest in front of the courthouse.

“Hacı Esvet was a father. He went to the hospital to see his children but didn’t return. The mother (Emine Şenyaşar) has held a sit-in protest in front of the courthouse for a year. Public opinion expects an official statement from the chief prosecutor and governor. Don’t be a party to this crime by keeping silent,” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account today.
