Riha- The sit-in protest of Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, continues on its 288th day today. In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar went in front of the Urfa Courthouse to keep holding their protest.
Shortly after, Emine Şenyaşar was summoned to testify for the 11th time for allegedly “insulting a public official”. Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar entered the courthouse with their lawyer to testify.
“We would rather freeze than face persecution”
The Şenyaşar family posted a tweet tagging the accounts of Urfa Governor Abdullah Erin, Abdulhamit Gül, the Minister of Justice, Erinç Sağkan, the head of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations and AKP Urfa MP Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba. “We would rather freeze in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse than face persecution at home. This should be a shame for those who talk about law and justice in Turkey,” read the tweet of the Şenyaşar family.
