Sudan_thousands of civilians in Kaduhli, south Kordofan, face increasing threats to their lives amid halted aid due to an ongoing blockade that blocks food and medicine, with warning of an imminent humanitarian disaster if the situation persists.

The sudan Doctors Network stated in a press release  on Friday, 21 November, that its field teams documented the deaths of 23 children between 20 October and 20 November in the cities of Dalang and Kadugli,South Kordofan, due to severe malnutrition and lack of essential supplies. The deaths are linked to the imposed blocked, which prevent food and medicine from entering and puts thousands of civilians at risk.

The network emphasized that these fatalities serve as a serious warning about the escalating humanitarian tragedy in the state. It condemned the continued blockade, which has led to the collapse of health services and hindered aid delivery, describing it as a clear violation of international humanitarian law and children’s rights to survival and protection.

The Sudan Doctors Network called on the United Nations and regional and international humanitarian organizations to act urgently to open safe corridors and provide immediate relief. They warned that if the situation continues, a widespread health disaster could occur unless measures are taken to lift the blockade and ensure the flow of food and medicine, preventing the tragedy from recurring in other areas of Sudan.
