2 of 5 women detained in Dersim sent to prison
Five women were taken into custody in dawn raids conducted in Dersim on April 22, 2024. Two of them have been sent to prison.
News Center- On April 22, 2024, Turkish police conducted dawn house raids in Dersim and its Qisle (Nazimiye) district, detaining five women named Makbule Nakış, Emine Sürgeç, Eylem Sürgeç, Torun Dilsiz (71) and her daughter, Özlem Dilsiz Çakmak.
Yesterday, they were referred to the courthouse after the procedures at the police station were completed. Three women were released under judicial control while Emine Sürgeç and Eylem Sürgeç were sent to prison over terrorism charges.
