News Center- The Turkish state and Turkish-backed factions keep targeting agricultural lands in North and East Syria. During this year's harvest season, 2,000 hectares of cultivated land in Manbij, Ain Issa, Til Temir, Zirgan, Qamishlo and Amuda, Hawar News Agency (ANHA) reported on Thursday.

1,961 hectares of cultivated land were burned in the Turkish attacks on the rural areas of Manbij canton, 219 hectares in the rural areas of Ain Issa, 94 hectares in rural areas of Til Temir, 19 hectares in the rural areas of Zirgan, and 150 hectares in the rural areas of Qamishlo and Amuda, according to the statistics of ANHA.

Over 19,000 olive and pistachio trees burned

ANHA also reported that more than 19,000 olive and pistachio trees were burned in the attacks of the Turkish state and Turkish-backed factions on North and East Syria during this year’s harvest season. According to ANHA, most of the burned trees were in Manbij canton.

The emergency committees formed by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria responded when the fire broke out due to the attacks and prevented the fire from reaching agricultural lands.

“Civil defense and emergency teams were able to extinguish 44 fires,” said Muhammad Darwish, Co-chair of the Municipal Committee of Girê Spi.

Talal Hamidi, a member of the People’s Municipality Fire Brigade in Manbij Canton, confirmed that the civil defense and emergency teams in Manbij Canton were also able to extinguish 300 fires in and near agricultural lands.
