Algeria- The “فيمنيسيدز ألجيري (Femicide Algerie)” website, which keeps monthly records of the number of women who fell victim to violence and femicide in Algeria, has announced that 16 women have been killed in Algeria since the beginning of 2022.

A 70-year-old woman was killed by a man after stole her golden jewels. A 39-year-old woman was killed in front of her children by her husband in April, according to the website.

In 2021, 45 women were killed in Algeria, according to the report released by Amnesty International. In the report, Amnesty International calls for “struggle together to eliminate violence against women.”
