The sit-in protest staged by the Şenyaşar family has entered its 129th day. Emine Şenyaşar commented about her detention yesterday and demanded justice again.

Riha- The sit-in protest staged by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, continues on its 129th day. The family went in front of the courthouse to hold their sit-in protest in the morning.

Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar were taken into custody yesterday by police while going to the Urfa Courthouse just before the visit of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chair Pervin Buldan to the city and they were released yesterday evening after Pervin Buldan left the city. Today, Emine Şenyaşar criticized their detention and said they were arbitrarily detained.

“They knew that Pervin Buldan would come. They detained us to prevent her visiting us. They did the same before. They constantly prevent us in this way. When the co-chair left the city, they released us. There was a police officer and he inflicted cruelty on us. He tried to batter us. I felt bad at the hospital and my son cried when he saw me. Why are they doing this to us?”

“Who killed my family members?” Emine Şenyaşar asked, adding, “They still follow us. They follow us step by step. There is no state, government and justice but cruelty. They killed three members of my family. They put one of my sons in prison. The cruelty against us continues. We are not allowed to enter the courthouse. The prosecutor doesn't want to meet with us. They killed my family members for no reason. My sons paid taxes to the state. Police officers begin to follow us whenever we leave our house. They follow us wherever we go. They try to find a crime to use against us.”

The Şenyaşar family today also posted a tweet commenting about the removal of the appointed rector of Boğaziçi University, “This is a good start. The people of Urfa also expect a midnight decision about your parliamentarian, who carried out a massacre.”
