“1000 women for the freedom of Aysel Tuğluk”

Women from different countries have launched a petition called “1000 women for the freedom of Aysel Tuğluk” to draw attention to jailed politician Aysel Tuğluk’s health condition and to demand her immediate release.

News Center- Women from different countries have launched a petition called “1000 women for the freedom of Aysel Tuğluk” to demand the release of Aysel Tuğluk, who has been held Kandıra F-Type Prison although she has suffered from dementia. The aim of the women is to collect 1000 signatures until January 12. 2.545 people have already signed the petition. 
As part of the petition supported by the women from the USA, Germany, Netherlands, and Sweden, the women will launch an online campaign on January 14 under the hashtag “Bin kadından biri de benim (I am one of a thousand women)” to demand the release of Aysel Tuğluk and sick prisoners in Turkey. 
In the petition, the women say, “Aysel is the women's comrade, sister. We cannot stay silent any longer against the risk of Aysel's life. As 1000 women from every part of life and struggle, we invite everyone to be the voice of Aysel. We don’t want to be late for Aysel. We don’t want to shed tears. Today, there are hundreds of sick prisoners, including seriously sick prisoners, in Turkey. Seven sick prisoners died in prison in the last seven months. Everybody has the right to live and to be treated at home with their loved ones. We stand by their right to live. We demand freedom of all sick prisoners, including Aysel Tuğluk.”
