PAJK: The birth of leader Öcalan is a symbol of a new birth for the Kurdish people.
The coordination of the Kurdistan Women's Freedom Party (PAJK) affirmed that leader Öcalan's birth symbolizes a new birth for the Kurdish people, their women, and the millions who derived freedom and dignity from his struggle.
News Center — Today, April 4, marks the birthday of leader Abdullah Öcalan, an occasion that receives wide attention in Kurdish circles, who consider this day a symbolic milestone in the path of political and social struggle.
On the occasion of leader Abdullah Öcalan's birthday, the coordination of the Kurdistan Women's Freedom Party (PAJK) issued a statement on Saturday, April 4, affirming that the birth of leader Abdullah Öcalan is the birth of a free person who brought about a new birth for millions of people, and that this life, which spanned 77 years, was dedicated to society and freedom.
The statement indicated that April 4 represents the birth of freedom for all women and humanity, especially for the Kurdish people and their women. The celebration of millions around the world of this birth stems from its transformation into an epic of resistance that shattered the grip of denial, destruction, and cultural genocide. With this epic birth, Kurdish existence has earned a distinguished place in the family of humanity — an illuminating and inspiring history, reviving and renewing, emerging from a dark, hidden, and dead past, written and created within a single generation over half a century of struggle for freedom.
"Leader of the women's renaissance"
The statement explained that leader Abdullah Öcalan is considered one of the most prominent architects of the Kurdish and feminist renaissance, as his ideas have contributed to shaping a new consciousness extending from Kurdistan to the Middle East and the world. "Leader Öcalan describes his second birth as the launch of the Kurdish liberation movement, while his third birth embodies the project of democratic modernity that he proposed."
The statement pointed out that Öcalan presented a democratic, ecological model based on women's liberation, aiming to transcend traditional state patterns and central authority, considering Öcalan's personality as universal, combining local and human values, and inspiring individuals and peoples seeking freedom. "Through his philosophy, Öcalan revealed the power of life based on honesty, courage, and the ethics of freedom, in the face of a history of marginalization, violence, and genocide entrenched by patriarchal state systems."
The coordination affirmed in its statement that Öcalan's call for peace and a democratic society constituted a new beginning and an extension of a path that affirms Kurdish existence, grants the people a free identity and personality, and places them in the position of a founding partner in the project of a democratic republic. "Öcalan's physical freedom is an essential condition for ensuring the proper development of this political and social path, because the demand for freedom constitutes the core of popular movements."
The statement noted that Öcalan's birthday represents an opportunity to reaffirm that the demand for his physical freedom is the main driver of the struggle of women and Kurds, and the most prominent factor in the continued societal support for this process. It added, "In his call for peace and a democratic society, Öcalan emphasized the necessity of myths and the restoration of women's dignity. In his letters, he describes our half-century struggle for freedom as the age of women's heroism. This description is a restoration of the dignity bestowed upon us by the myth of freedom that has lasted half a century, founded by leader Öcalan."
According to the statement, leader Abdullah Öcalan is viewed as a vast source of wisdom and intellectual formation, as his ideas have contributed to uncovering the marginalization left by patriarchal ideologies. Through a struggle described as epic, he highlighted the theoretical, organizational, and practical power of the women's renaissance and the achievement of free identity. The statement noted that this intellectual heritage is a source of pride for women, and transforming it into a driving force for free birth is a responsibility borne by Kurdish women and all women.
The statement affirmed that the freedom of leader Abdullah Öcalan is an integral part of women's freedom itself, and that the connection between his existence and their existence constitutes a fundamental axis. "Attaining a level of moral, political, scientific, and philosophical wisdom, and transforming this consciousness into collective action that moves women's liberation from the framework of ideology to the level of politicization and practice, represents a necessary step to strengthen political power and assume shared responsibilities."
"We will be worthy of his struggle"
The statement called on all women to internalize what it described as the "new birth" and apply it as widely as possible, affirming that this understanding forms the basis of their struggle and a motivation to continue working for freedom. "We are determined to continue the struggle, extending from Sakina to Beritan, from Zelan to Sema and Deniz, which illuminated the path to liberation from being a race, nation, class, and lineage that suffered from the wrath and destruction of the gods, toward freedom. We will remain comrades to those who built burning bridges from the culture of the goddess to the culture of the free woman and uncovered the secret of being worthy children of the goddess, and who met leader Öcalan. We will be worthy of his struggle for women's liberation and the achievement of their honorable birth in history. The women who came to know freedom and life through leader Öcalan will continue the struggle for his physical freedom."
