1,247 people killed in Israeli attacks on Lebanon since Oct.8

About 1,247 people have been killed by Israeli forces in Lebanon since October 8,2023 in Lebanon, announced Lebanon’s Environment Minister Nasser Yassin on Wednesday.

News Center- Nasser Yassin, the Minister of Environment in Lebanon, held a press conference at the Government Palace in Beirut on Wednesday regarding the casualties in the Israeli attacks that have intensified in recent days.

1,247 people have been killed and 5,278 others injured by Israeli forces in Lebanon since October 8, 2023, he said at the press conference, adding that the registered number of displaced persons in emergency shelters represents about 30% of the total displaced, estimating that over 150,000 individuals have fled their home, especially from southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.

The displaced people are spread from Wadi Khaled and Akkar in the north to the capital Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and areas in the Bekaa Valley such as Zahle, Matn, Aley, and Chouf.

603 people killed in three days

Israel has launched hundreds of airstrikes in southern and eastern Lebanon since Monday, killing nearly 603 people and injuring more than 2,000 others, according to the Lebanon Health Ministry.
